Embassy of Finland provides consular services for Finnish citizens and permanent residents. Certain consular services are applicable to the citizens of the Nordic countries and the European Union, as well.
Consular services include passports for Finnish citizens, assistance to Finnish citizens in distress, population registration, notary services and matters relating to military service and Finnish citizenship. Advance voting is also arranged by the Finnish mission. Embassy also provides information about Finnish authorities, and gives general advice in legal and administrative issues.
Services for foreigners include residence permits to Finland. Since November 2005 Schengen visas to Finland are handled and issued by the Royal Danish Embassy according the Nordic cooperation agreement
Singaporean and Malaysian citizens can stay in Finland and the Schengen area visa-free up to 90 days within the period of 6 months. This 6-month period begins on the day of first entry to a Schengen country.
The Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, plus Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia
